Key Concept Analysis



Media Language:
The first key convention that tells the audience that this is an advert is the Watch logo on the bottom right hand corner. Whoever made this advert has thought really cleverly on how to lay out the language in a way which will appeal to all audiences.They have used clever techniques on the description above which outlines "Dynamo Magician Impossible" in which makes the name "Dynamo" stand out. they have decided to use red which catches peoples attention. The letter "A" in the name Dynamo refers to the playing card ace of spades(since it has the spades symbol below it) this is his trademark. Then the word "Magician Impossible" in white standard bold font. as you can see right at the top it says "This is modern magic from the 21st century" this explains what the advert is all about. the expression on his face makes him look very mysterious and powerful.

Institution:
The major institution behind this advert is Watch(TV channel) is a general entertainment channel broadcasting in the United Kingdom and Ireland, as part of the UKTV network.This is why they decided to bring Magic into their industry because its entertaining and always leaves people wondering.

Audience:
The target audience for watch matches all age groups because everybody loves entertainment no matter how old you are. Dynamo performs magic to all ages and they all like what he does so Watch TV has cleverly selected him to their institution. Dynamo and his incredible skills of illusion, as he travels around the world and amazes
everyone he meets. Magic is known for making everything seem possible so if you do something impossible than anyone no matter how old they are they will still be mesmerized!
so there is no target audience for this.

Representation:
When it comes to representation this is probably one of the best adverts because first of all they make him look extremely powerful and spiritual with the enhancement and effects used such as the bright blue misty clouds which surrounds him. As you can see they made this advert so complex by fitting all of New York in his very own hands this is impossible and this is why they used it because it is impossible to carry New York in your hands so this matches the description as well. This just makes him look like a powerful figure or character which children will look above as an inspiration and the way it is displayed in epic quality it also makes people eager to watch the show.
